Astrid Charlotte Wintgens

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am pleased to introduce myself to you. My name is Astrid Charlotte Wintgens, a passionate textile artist who is inspired by the beauty of nature. My textile works are a harmonious combination of art and nature. I discover the diverse colors, shapes and textures of our natural surroundings and incorporate these inspiring elements into my designs. The fabrics I create transform into living paintings that capture the magic and harmony of the natural world. I create a connection between textile art and real nature through the use of photography. I capture the beauty of nature in my photographs and print them on high-quality fabrics. This is how works are created that build a bridge between the tangible world and my artistic vision.

My creative journey was initiated by my training at the Werkkunstschule Krefeld in the “Product Design” department. During my time there, I had the privilege of completing stage design internships in London, which broadened my design perspective. After further training as a multimedia conceptionist, I used my knowledge as a teacher in design and creativity promotion at the Düsseldorf Media Academy. I have been working as a freelance artist since 2006 and have experienced artist residencies in Paris, Rome and Barcelona during my creative journey. A highlight was my master class with Professor Jo Bukowski from 2019 to 2021.

I cordially invite you to experience the beauty of nature with me through the art of textile printing. Immerse yourself in the world where photography and textile art merge in a unique way. Each of my works is an individual work of art, handmade with love and passion.

Sincerely yours,

Astrid Charlotte Wintgens
