Joke te Beest

Joke te Beest

Joke te Beest (1966) has been born in Varsseveld and lives on a farm in De Heurne since 1996. From a young age, she has surrounded herself with flowers. In the 1980s, she attended a master class in flower arranging in Zwolle, where she further developed her sense of color and form.

After years of teaching flower arranging courses, she decided to reorient her career and learn something new herself. So she discovered painting and initially studied with Gerda Boland, later at the cultural center in Dinxperlo, and with Ria Wiendels.

Joke primarily paints with acrylics. She enjoys experimenting with different materials to create texture and depth. Her works are often abstract and influenced by nature and her immediate surroundings. She also draws inspiration from other artists, but develops her own unique style.

The exhibition in Kerkje De Rietstap presents several of her works together for the first time – a colorful introduction to her creative world.
